Dinner Divine
Well the Black Tie Dinner and auction was a rip roaring success. There was a sold out crowd present to take part in the action.
In all there were 6 tables of silent auction items covering the spectrum of goods with everything from soup to nut up for grabs. By closing time all the bid sheets had bid after bid written down with some memorable items generating alot of interest. Q103′s bass guitar & amp ( baby boomers reliving the high school years! “I can hear the crowd roaring as I write my next highest bid!!” ) there seemed to be a small group of ladies hovering around Annagrettes’ chocolates bid sheet ( some thing missing in the night life ladies …….. ? 
) Fishing with Sensei ( Louis bring a light with you on the water and see your GP for a catheter ) wine, golf and of course Boyd Auto Body had the lumber jacks all vieing for the Husky Chain Saw ( wife: ” Uh…… isn’t that sort’a close to the truck?” husband: ” bah! what’d you know, I can handle this. I’ve seen it on TV lots” truck: CRUNCH )
The live auction had some hotly contested lots with the stocked beer fridge eagerly sought after, thank you to the Tribe tribe for the fridge and Woody’s Pub, Winfield, BC, for filling it with canned goodness! Fishing trips, wine fridge, and lots more were all going to the highest bidder.
Guest speaker, Ben Stewart gave a memorable speech with humorous anecdotes from his years of training with the dojo and with his life on the farm.
With such a varied crowd in attendance it was amazing to see how far the karate life style reaches. From alumni Taneda students to community business persons who were eager to see what its all about and support a great way of life.
The Soke Cup 2010 team would like to sincerely thank all the corporate and private support we received for this event. All of the funds will go directly to the athletes traveling to Kumamoto Japan in August.
This event will become an annual event so keep a saturday open for next year and check the site often and follow our training and development as we prepare to take it to the next level!
